Predictions, games and community

TablePredict Guide

Everything you need to build a football prediction, compete with friends, join community games, and understand the rules.

The main game

Build a table prediction

Choose a competition and put every club or team in your predicted finishing order.

  1. Choose a competition. Open the competition menu or browse every available predictor on the Competitions page.
  2. Move the rows. Drag a row on desktop. On touch screens, use the move handle at the end of the row.
  3. Use the keyboard if you prefer. Focus a row handle and press Arrow Up, Arrow Down, Home, or End to reposition it.
  4. Review the full order. Outcome zones vary by competition. In the World Cup predictor, teams move within their own groups rather than through one combined table.
Your draft stays on this device.

Every move is saved locally in your browser. Reset restores the default order. Local storage is not the same as publishing a prediction to your account.

Keep it or send it

Save and share are different actions

Save your table

Sign in with a passwordless email link, then select Save table. This creates a public prediction tied to your profile and enters the appropriate community leaderboard.

If you change a saved prediction while editing is still allowed, select Save table again to publish the new order.

Share a scorecard

Copy, download, or share the generated scorecard image and prediction link. Sharing works without publishing to the Community.

Copying, downloading, or sharing an image does not save your prediction. Unsaved edits are included in the shared link, but do not replace the version on your public profile until you update it.

Know the lock.

A preseason table can be edited until its competition lock. A saved late-entry table is permanent, so review it before saving.

Lowest score wins

How table scoring works

Each club adds the absolute difference between its predicted position and its real position. Add those differences for the total score.

Position error

Predict a club 1st and see it finish 5th: that club adds 4 points. An exact position adds 0. Lower totals are better, and tables are compared only within the same competition, season, and entry cohort.

Late entries

A late-entry total is the position-error score plus four points for every started entry round. Each entry round starts at the earliest confirmed kickoff among that round's scheduled league fixtures.

Preseason and late-entry rankings stay separate. A saved late-entry prediction cannot be edited, locks after the final entry round begins, and does not affect preseason consensus.

Live and grouped scoring

Scores during a season are provisional and become final when the official final table is available. World Cup groups are scored separately, then the group errors are added together.

Profiles, leaderboards and friend leagues

Compare predictions in the Community

Public profiles

Your profile can show your username, optional bio, public prediction tables, scores, and earned badges. Profile and prediction pages include links to copy or share on X.

Global leaderboards

Select a competition and season, then switch between preseason and late-entry rankings when both are available. Lower table-prediction scores rank higher.

Friend leagues

Sign in to create or join private friend rooms. A room can cover multiple competitions, uses separate preseason and late-entry cohorts, and can automatically include an existing saved prediction for a selected competition.

Joining requires its invite code. Room pages are accessible to anyone who receives the room link or code, so do not treat them as confidential spaces.

Aggregate public picks

How Community consensus is calculated

Published consensus pages summarize eligible public preseason tables. They are a snapshot of TablePredict submissions, not betting odds or a representative poll.

Strict eligibility

A table must be complete, public, saved outside a friend room, match the correct competition roster and season, and meet the competition's publication window. Late entries are excluded.

Published only with enough data

A published consensus needs at least 10 valid public preseason tables. Competitions are reviewed before publication, so reaching 10 does not automatically create a new public page.

The order and shares

Clubs are ordered by median predicted position, then average position, with the canonical roster order as a final deterministic tie-break. First-place and top-four figures are pick shares, not probabilities.

Coming soon

Team Battles

Team Battles will ask which of two clubs will progress further in the Champions League, Europa League, or Conference League.

A complete 40-pick deck

Everyone receives the same 40 matchups. Their order and left-right orientation are shuffled consistently for each entry. You will need to answer every matchup before the exact first league-phase kickoff.

Autosave and lock

Team Battles will require sign-in. Picks autosave and can be changed until the lock. Individual picks stay private, while a qualified leaderboard can show username, rating, result record, resolved count, and rank.

Higher rating wins

Correct picks add 1 and incorrect picks subtract 1. Ties and void matchups are excluded from the rating denominator. Rating is (wins - losses) / (wins + losses), ranges from -1 to 1, and the higher rating wins.

Separate game, separate scoring.

Team Battles are currently coming soon. They do not use the lower-score-wins table formula, and remain closed until all 36-team rosters and exact lock times are confirmed.

Quick community questions

Match Picks and Fan Votes

These are casual, unscored votes. They do not add points, ranks, badges, or prizes.

Match Picks

During an active matchweek, participating league pages can show three selected fixtures. Choose Home, Draw, or Away. Each pick closes at kickoff for that fixture, and an open pick can be changed.

Results appear after you vote or after the pick closes. Match Picks may be hidden when no active set is published.

Fan Votes

One published supporter question can be active at a time. Vote once per browser or signed-in account identity, change your vote while it is open, see results after voting or close, and browse previous closed questions in the archive.

There may be no active Fan Vote between published questions.

What the totals mean

Fan Votes are non-scientific community signals. Poll totals count browser or account votes, not verified unique people. A shared choice link only highlights an option and never casts a vote. Clearing browser storage can create a new anonymous voting identity.

Profile milestones

How profile badges are earned

Badges are calculated from verified TablePredict activity. They are not self-claimed, and Predictor Badges are awarded only after results are final.

Founding Predictor

Gold only. Save a valid prediction in an official inaugural competition cycle before 1 August 2027 UTC.

Predictor Badge

Earned from a finalized public global leaderboard within its own cohort. With fewer than 100 participants, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd earn gold, silver, and bronze. With 100 or more participants, the top 3%, 10%, and 25% earn gold, silver, and bronze.

Veteran Badge

Valid participation across 2, 4, and 6 official seasons earns bronze, silver, and gold respectively.

Explorer Badge

Valid participation across 2, 4, and 6 regions or international competitions earns bronze, silver, and gold respectively.

Community Badge

1, 2, and 3 verified contributions earn bronze, silver, and gold respectively. Room participation is the contribution currently verified for this badge.

Public status depends on the badge.

Founding Predictor, Veteran, and Explorer use valid owned predictions even if they are not public. Predictor Badge specifically requires a finalized public global-leaderboard result.

Account and data

What is public and what stays private

TablePredict uses passwordless email authentication. You can build and share a local table without signing in, but publishing, rooms, and Team Battles require an account.

Public

Your chosen username, optional bio, public predictions, scores, profile links, earned badges, qualified Team Battles leaderboard stats, poll aggregates, and published consensus aggregates can be public.

Public by link

Friend-league room pages can be accessed by people who receive the room link or invite code. Treat an invite code as shareable access; joining still requires the code.

Private or server-only

Your email address is never shown. Authentication data, raw room membership rows, individual Team Battles picks, and individual poll vote identities are not published. Poll identities use a poll-specific hash rather than storing the raw browser token in each vote row.

On your device

Draft orders, score history, preferences, your auth session, and a random anonymous poll token may be stored in browser local storage.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to build a table?

No. You can build and share a table locally without an account. Sign in to publish it to the Community, join leaderboards and rooms, or enter Team Battles when they open.

Does sharing my scorecard save my prediction?

No. Sharing preserves the order in the link, but only saving your table publishes that order to your profile and leaderboard.

Can I edit a late-entry table?

No. A saved late-entry table is immutable. Preseason editing remains available only until the competition lock.

Why is my table missing from consensus?

Consensus accepts only complete, eligible public preseason tables outside friend rooms. A competition also needs at least 10 qualifying tables and must be explicitly published.

Are friend leagues private?

They are invite-only to join, but their pages can be opened by anyone who receives the room link or code. Do not share confidential information in a room.

Are Match Picks and Fan Votes scored?

No. They are casual community features, not scored prediction games or scientific polls.

Is TablePredict a betting product?

No. TablePredict is for entertainment and prediction comparison. It does not offer wagers or prizes.
